Indigenous Voices Series
Thanksgiving honors the harvest feast shared by the original inhabitants of the northeast United States and English colonists. To honor that meeting in a new way, join Healdsburg resident Tom Weso, a member of the Menominee Tribe, as he reads from his new memoir Survival Food: North Woods Stories by a Menominee Cook and shares food experiences from his traditional and not so traditional upbringing. Tribal storytelling intertwines with contemporary cooking as Weso celebrates the foods he grew up with, ranging from his mother’s commodity food pantry to foraged plants and game.
Indigenous Voices Series sponsored by City of Healdsburg Public Art Grant
