With/Out Ice Laurie Glover & Zoriça Markovich
Poet and essayist Laurie Glover is the Literary Arts Program Director at THE 222. In October 2022, she and Zoriça Kelly Markovich were among 27 artists who participated in a sailing-ship residency among the arctic islands of Svalbard, Norway. Amid Markovich’s hung-silk photographic images of ice forms and arctic soundscapes, Glover will present a multi-voice, multi-part poem that captures the fragmenting and fragmentary human history that has been playing itself out in places like Svalbard, where human peril and the plight of the ecosystem are one and the same.
