Barry Hutcherson
Influenced at an early age by father, vibist Bobby Hutcherson, Barry was exposed to great jazz musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Ron Carter, Jackie Mclean to mention just a few.
Barry took up the drums at age 13 and later studied at the Musicians Institute of Hollywood. He also studied with legendary drummers such as Billy Higgins, Eddie Marshall, L.A. fusion drummer Joey Heredia, Willie Jones III and has shared the stage with various artists such as Joey DeFrancesco, George Cables, Roy Hargrove and many others.
Barry began working with Bobby Hutcherson in 2012 after drummer Eddie Marshall’s untimely passing in 2011 and continued to work with Bobby until he passed in 2016. “It is a profound honor to be a part of Bobby’s musical legacy.” – Barry Hutcherson
