Diane Willie

Diane Willie is Salt clan of Navajo people and Pueblo. Her maternal grandfather’s clan is Chiricahua Apache and paternal grandfathers are Pueblo. Sharp Rocks is her book of fiction. She has published interviews, poetry, and fiction in Tribal College Journal, Flapper Journal, and others, and she has pursued graduate studies in Creative Writing. At the Native American Community Academy, a charter school for Indigenous students in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she teaches and is an administrator. She graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University with an associate’s degree and the University of Kansas with bachelor's and master’s degrees in education. In addition to instructing Native students, Willie does presentations for educators on Native Studies. She also develops curriculum for the Education Department of New Mexico.
