Attending a Performance

THE 222 is located at 222 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg, CA (inside The Paul Mahder Gallery).

In an effort to help you have the most enjoyable experience at THE 222, we’ve prepared answers to common concerns and questions.

It is suggested that you arrive 30 minutes before the performance. Please be sure to leave ample time to account for weather, traffic conditions, and parking when traveling to THE 222. Out of respect for the artists and the patrons already seated, latecomers will be seated only during appropriate breaks in the performance or at the intermission.
Late Seating Policy

While we understand that traffic conditions, public transportation, or weather can have unexpected effects on your arrival at the performance, we wish to minimize disruptions for seated patrons and for artists onstage. Latecomers will be asked to wait in the front of the gallery until an appropriate break or intermission.

222 Etiquette

THE 222 does not adhere to a specific dress code other than requiring that you be fully clothed including shoes.

Some patrons prefer to take advantage of the performance experience in formal dress, others come in business attire, while some prefer the comfort of jeans. We believe the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and enjoy the performance.

Golden Rules

  • Go easy on the atomizer; many people are highly allergic to perfume and cologne.
  • If you bring a child, make sure etiquette is part of the experience. Children love learning new things.
  • Unwrap all candies and cough drops before the performance begins.
  • Make sure all cell phones, beepers and signal watches are OFF. And don’t jangle the bangles.
  • Note to lovebirds: When you lean your head together, you block the view of the person behind you.
  • THOU SHALT NOT TALK, or hum, or sing along, or beat time with a body part.
  • Force yourself to wait for a pause or intermission before rifling through a purse, backpack or shopping bag.
  • Yes, the parking lot gets busy and public transportation is tricky, but leaving while the show is in progress is discourteous.
  • The old standby: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
